Did you know tourism can be a powerful tool for peacebuilding? The Global Peace Perspectives Roadmap dives into this exciting idea, showing how young people can become changemakers in promoting peace through travel. Created as part of the Paths to Peace project, this guide explores how tourism can help foster reconciliation, intercultural understanding, and social cohesion in regions affected by conflict or recovering from it.

The connection between tourism and peace isn’t something most people think about, but it has huge potential. And guess what? Young people like YOU can play a key role in making this idea a reality!

The Roadmap is based on research conducted in six European countries—Austria, Cyprus, Denmark, Ireland, Sweden, and Ukraine—and highlights how youth engagement, intercultural dialogue, and responsible tourism can help create a culture of peace. It also takes a closer look at the challenges, like barriers to tourism-based peacebuilding and the skills young people need to succeed in this field.

But it’s not just about identifying problems—it’s about solutions! The Roadmap includes practical recommendations for policymakers, tourism professionals, educators, and organizations working in civil society. It also includes a highly practical resource pack designed for young people eager to engage in peacebuilding through tourism and explore opportunities to create meaningful change.
